An exploration and understanding of cell division is essential for knowledge of all fundamental processes of life at a cellular level (Chandra, 2002). According to Urry et al. (2020), the Mitotic (M) phase includes both Mitosis, defined as the distribution of identical sets of chromosomes into the separate two daughter nuclei, and Cytokinesis, defined as the cytoplasmic division that produces the distinct two daughter cells (that contain the identical sets of chromosomes stored int their nuclei from mitosis). Following the mitosis and cytokinesis, each daughter cell, is not only identical to each other but also to the original parent cell and can function separately while starting a new cell cycle. The separating of the identical chromosomes into two distinct daughter nuclei, mitosis, is divided into five stages, prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase, then followed by cytokinesis, division of the cytoplasm (Chandra, 2002). At each phase of mitosis, the identical genetic information, whether sister chromatids attached together or the detached individual identical chromosomes, is present and new identical daughter nuclei are either preparing to form or forming. Once the DNA is condensed into the chromosomes and lined up the cell uses its spindle fibers, which are made from microtubules, to pull the chromosomes apart and to the opposite poles of the cell, where the new identical nuclei are about to form and then after cytokinesis two distinct daughter cells are present and contain all the exact genetic material of the parent cell that is required for all parts of the cell cycle (McIntosh, 2016). Now that the two daughter cells are formed with the identical DNA of the parent cell, each cell is indistinguishable from the original parent cell.

During mitosis a cell goes through division. In this process the cell later forms into two genetically identical daughter cells. Mitosis has a process of five phases which are prophase, pro-metaphase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. These cells go through a process called interphase in which it grows enough for division. It duplicates chromosomes in the S phase and makes sure its system is ready for cell division. Then it is ready to move on to its first phase of mitosis In cell division the chromosomes for the parent cell and the daughter cell are the same. According to Scitable by Nature Education “After the S phase there are two copies of sister chromatids attached in the center point called centromere.” This is all a necessary processes needed for a cell to divide and create new cells. That is the process of mitosis and how DNA information is transfered to produce identical daughter cells.
