Welcome to the Week Eight Roundup Discussion Forum. After you review the materials for Week Eight (chapter(s), Ted Talk(s) and PowerPoint) please:
Pick one of the end-of-chapter(s) discussions below and share your answers in this forum by clicking on Reply, typing in your response and then post. Your answers should be well researched using the book and other reliable resources. You should also add your own experiences with the topic as part of your analysis. Your answer should be between 250 – 500 words and include your sources.
Your initial contribution is due by Wednesdaybefore midnight.
Respond to one other classmate’s posting in a second reply/post. I expect that you will add substantially to our learning in that response. “Me, too” or “Great answer” are not acceptable for points. If you can, feel free to bring in your own experiences.

Week Eight Discussion Questions:
How would you describe your role as a change manager using the terms introduced in this chapter: champion, soul of fire, positive deviant, disruptive innovator, chief transformation officer? How is this reflected in your behavior? Would you become more or less effective as a change manager if you “dropped below the radar”. (Chapter Twelve)
How effectively do you use your informal networks to drive change in your organization? How could you develop and make better use of these networks? (Chapter Twelve)
As a practicing manager, you probably already have most of the required capabilities of the change manager. But how do you feel about using intimidation to motivate others to change? Are there circumstances when this would be appropriate in your organization? (Chapter Twelve)
Are you politically skilled? Do you use your skills to advance your change agenda? What approaches and tactics do you use to “sell” ideas to colleagues and top management? Who are other “politicians” in your organization? Are you able to manage their support and block their attempts to interfere with your change agenda? (Chapter Twelve)
